I have altered your plugin slightly in three respects. Would you consider adding these additions in the official version?

CSS hooks for the * and the time, so that they can be styled (or hidden) individually. I wanted to show the calendar days with display=block and the * prevented me to do this. Also, I wanted to hide the text all day because all my events happen to be all day. http://www.tammo80.nl/files/css-hooks.patch

Determine FG colors based on background: for dark category colors, it would be better to render the text in white rather than the default color. Adding this to the database is probably a hassle, and it's quite easy to determine the 'best' foreground color to maximize contrast with the background color. http://www.tammo80.nl/files/contrast.patch

Use category colors in the minical. Does what it says. For multiple events on a day, the color of the first one is used. This uses the contrast patch above. http://www.tammo80.nl/files/color-minical.patch

Thank you for these, I'll look into them for the next release - I suspect that 1.3.10 already has the first one or a variant thereof, but will look at them all anyway. Thanks.

Can it be used for Mobile Templates as well? I've been searching for the guides to customize the Template Files and thought there could be a variant of color scheme for color blind users as well.
Thanks.

The contrast elements might help for colour blind users, but it may not cover every eventuality. Try it and see is all I can suggest. This has reminded me however to try and get these into the main release!
