There's no cross function support by default; I had to write some shared functions and then code a plugin for WordPress to use them and a mod for phpBB, it's the only way

Hi Kieran! I'm new in this forum, and want to ask about the design options and config of phpBB, so how difficult is it comparing to installing a Wordpress forum? Do you think is much better the first way (bcause you are using it)?

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming here that you're talking about bbPress as the WordPress forum.

Installation wise they're about the same, perhaps bbPress is a little easier as it's in plugin form.

Once you've installed it, phpBB is a little harder to fully integrate with your site (be it styles, logins or both), however phpBB is, and will likely remain, much more feature rich than bbPress and so if you wish to have a large, busy community you're probably better off using phpBB. Having said that, if you're planning on running a small site and want a minimum of fuss, go down the bbPress route.

Hope this helps!
