Fantastico error installing phpESP

I host a few websites in return for a link to this site and the odd free pint of beer. If this is you, ask any support questions here

Fantastico error installing phpESP

Unread post by Sy Borg » Thu May 22, 2008 12:03 pm

Afternoon.

I get the following error when trying to install phpESP through Fantastico. Clicking on the finish button after supplying all parameters I get

Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /frontend/x3/fantastico/autoinstallphpespdo.php could not be found on this server.

Just in case it causes confusion, I've started the process of installing it manually ;)

Ok, We're making some progress with this. Have you ever installed or uninstalled this fantastico item before? What about other items?

I don't think I've tried phpESP through Fantastico before. I've certainly tried a bunch of other installs before settling on Wordpress for blogging etc. I tried several of CMS solutions (Joomla etc), I had a go with the house sales application, probably phpBB etc. Given the space restrictions for my package I've needed to take stuff away again after trying it (hence sending recent request for a quote for more space).

I think I've always removed the apps through Fantastico as well, although I can't be 100% sure of that.

Thanks for getting back to us. We'll look into this and see if we can find a fix for you. Fantastico is a funny beast sometimes ;)

Thanks for being patient with this issue.

In the end the problem required contact with fantastico and they indicated that the problem was at their end and a fix would be deployed at some point in the near future. This update will be rolled into the offering you can access on CPanel automatically, however no time scale was given by fantastico as to exactly how long a fix would take. Try again in a week or so and get back to us if you are still having problems.

Would you mind giving it a go now?

Sorry Kieran, only just seen this.
I removed the db I created manually and the files/directories that I uploaded with the intention of going into Fantastico and giving it a go. Problem is that Fantastico isn't in my cpanel view anymore :(
I can't remember if it was under 'software/services' or 'advanced' but either way it's not there now.
