404 ERRORS

Unread post by Chris153 » Fri Sep 05, 2008 12:15 pm

I have just downloaded and installed Calendar 1.2 from wordpress.org. The calendar is displaying correctly at greeningbrum.org.uk/events, using {CALENDAR} but when I try to manage the calendar at http://greeningbrum.org.uk/wp-admin/cal ... lendar.php I get Error 404.

I tried deleting the plugin, re-downloading and re-installing, but same result.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks ---Chris

This virtual multi-blog of which you speak, is this WPMU or something else? If it is something else can you link me to the website for it? It may be that because of the way it works plugins need to be authored differently in which case calendar will not be supported.

Also can you try and deactivate all plugins to see if any are affecting calendar? If calendar then works, try activating them one at a time until you find the one that causes the problems. If this happens I can try the problem plugin, find the problem and let you know if it is my problem to fix or the author of the other plugin.

As I understand it, virtual multiblog works very differently from WPMU, and is generally highly compatible with plugins.

I'll let you know when I get a chance to check the plugins one by one. Thanks very much for your swift response and your help.

Ok, I've taken a brief look at the multi-blog thing you are using. On the face of it I see no reason why it shouldn't work as normal so *probably* one of your other plugins are at fault or at least there are compatibility issues at any rate.

One other question I forgot to ask was what version of WordPress are you using?

I'm using Wordpress 2.6.1 and Virtual Multiblog 2.4 As far as I know the plugins are the most up-to-date.

Thanks again for your help.

Well, calendar has been tested on a clean install of WordPress 2.6.1 so it probably is an issue with your other plugins :(

I am also seeing 404 Errors. Have there been any plugin conflicts identified?

Answered my own question. Conflict with (at least) Lighter menus in 2.5.1. Upgrading to 2.6.1 and will report.

Switched to Ozh' Admin Menus (instead of Lighter Menus). ALL GOOD!
