Newbie needs basic instruction

Unread post by Jill Marley » Tue Dec 31, 2013 12:22 pm

Happy new year! :P I have uploaded your calendar to our site http://www.clevelandunitingchurch.com/2 ... an&yr=2014 and I cannot find where to manage the plugin, how to add events into the date and how to edit. I'm sure there's a simple answer to this one! My twenty-ten Wordpress theme had the previous AJAX calendar listed under the dashboard but, although activated, your calendar is not visible to me in the dashboard area.

I have great hopes for this plugin. Hope it works for me. Many thanks for developing it and offering it for our use. Jill in Qld, Australia

HI Jill,

I have 'Calendar' showing on the sidebar in Dashboard with Manage Calendar, Calendar Options and Calendar Categories. If you don't have a high WP User level it doesn't display there. Did you look at these installation instructions?

Thank you for your suggestion however I've followed these instructions up to where I cannot see where to configure or manage the calendar. I am webmaster for the website so I have full access to the dashboard and everything else. Thanks for your ideas.

So you've created a new page, added the text {CALENDAR} to it and can see the empty calendar when your visit the page. Now, in your admin panel, to the bottom of the left hand side bar, you should see the Calendar section, underneath will be 3 options, one to manage calendar, one for categories and the last for config. Hope this helps.

Thank you, I have looked on my Dashboard at exactly where you said it should be but no word 'Calendar' anywhere. Maybe I have to download it a second time. It's not listed under Settings, either.

Are you sure it's active in the plugins section?

Ok, take a screen shot of your dashboard home page and post it here - I should be able to point calendar out to you

I can do this but it doesn't appear here. Can I email it to you in a Word document?
