Previous and next issue slightly different and I'm a noob

Unread post by lemorris » Thu Aug 13, 2009 5:46 pm

Hi

sorry if this is answered below but I'm a real rookie with the code so I'll explain what's happening.

On site#1 I have the calendar plug-in working fine. If you click previous or next month it goes no problem.

On site#2 The calendar will only go forward one month. I have events on later months but when you click the next button for a second time the calendar disappears and is replaced by the home page.

you can see it here:

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the calendar. Site #1 uses a different theme. I installed the site#1 them on to site #2 and still the previous and next doesn't work.

I can do a wordpress re-install I guess but I thought I would ask for help here first.

Is it possible to remove the previous and next? If you use the drop down and click go it works fine.

Once again I am an amateur at best with this so if you are telling me to change code from one thing to the next, I would need to know where and maybe even how. :(

Thanks for your help

Does the same problem occur even if you try a different theme on the problematic site? I can't see any obvious reason for this, but something is deleting the URL variable used by Calendar to decide where the next/prev links should go.

yes it does it with any theme

even the same theme as the one on the site that is working.

Is there a way to delete the pevious and next? and then users can just use the drop down which works fine.

thanks for taking the time on this.

Are the sites installed on different servers/with different hosts?

Basically this is not a Calendar issue (seeing as you have the same install working in one place but not another). The Next/Prev links are the default (the drop-downs are optional) so there is no way of removing the links.

If you can't solve the server problem then the only work-around I can think of is to hard-code the links in the calendar.php file

hmmm

I'm not exactly sure how or where to place the hardcoded links.

Can I ask for a little more guidance?

Have you ruled out the different server config possibility yet? I only ask because you admit to not being that hot on code and any changes I guide you through here will end up getting over-written when there is an update to Calendar which will mean re-modifying things every now and again.

I haven't ruled that out. I will contact my host. I have conflict issues though. if they holler I might hang up. :)

Thanks...I'll let you know what happens on that end first.
