DNS down

I just finished saying things had gone from bad to worse last night, but it would appear things have got still worse this morning as my DNS servers have also gone down. In fact I fear at this stage the only reason I can post here is because the IP for my server is cached on my PC 🙁

As gary said in his comment last night, it never rains but it pours.

    sorry to hear about that.

regarding our earlier conversation, looking for other hosters.
you may want to check out ‘www.xilo.net’.
they seem to be ok. i’ve been with them for a couple of months now and are pretty on the ball. they upgraded their version of mysql and added a module to their php setup within a week of my asking!
the forum is very quiet compared to you know who but i think it is early days with them yet.
anyway have a look and see what you think!

I e-mailed their support address with a low priority message with questions and got a response back in under 15 minutes and they answered all my questions in detail, quite impressive.

I would say the only problem is that their reseller accounts have account limits, and they are quite restrictive; 30 accounts on 3Gb worth of space for example. Not very good if you have lots of small personal sites to host. For example, I have more domains than that allocated to less than 1Gb of space, and they are actually using less than what they are allocated. Keep looking I guess….
