Category Colors only in Calendar View, not sidebar

How can I make it so that the category colors show up in the full Calendar view, but not in the sidebar?

Sorry, I should have clarified.

I'm okay with the category color showing up when you hover, but not to be the background of the text, like on your site.

I found that using an ID in my theme lets me override the category color where I need it.

For example, I have the 3 most recent events displaying on my front page, and today's events in the sidebar, so I use:

#front-calendar .calnk a, 
#sidebar .calnk a {
  background: none !important;
}

The colors remain on my big calendar, but don't show up when the events are listed (although I left them on hover).

I'm still trying to get the hang of CSS, so I'm a little confused.

So you enter the code in the Calendar stylesheet? And then where does the ID go?
