I looked at the BB Storm myself recently, due to it being released on the O2 network following the end of Vodafone's exclusivity contract. I decided against it for two reasons. First, the battery - which as you mention is shocking. The BB I used to use for work lasted two or three days minimum! The second issue were the pages and pages of bad reviews it recieved, eg the Times artlcle here. Plus Stephen Fry hated it!
