Hi,

I had the same issue as Dustin said - I got a 404 page - but it worked, when I modified the standard-link in the admin-area to: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=calendar.php. Otherwise it would just show: /wp-admin/calendar.php?page=calendar.php - and that makes the 404.

It would be great, if this could work properly.

Another thing is about the css. I'm not a real programmer - if I am I would have changed this easily. For many reasons it would be much easier and more comfortable to separate the css-code from the php-code.

Anyway this is a great plugin and I'm looking forward what's coming next :)

Oh, didn't even notice the screenshot. Thanks for pointing that out, I'm sure get tired of asnwering questions like that.

It looks like there's been 10,003 downloaded
Is this the milemarker for beta release?

Thanks!

Shawn, a release date (of sorts) for the beta is mentioned here:
http://www.kieranoshea.com/2008/05/03/top-100/

The security has been looked into among a whole host of other things. Search would reveal:
http://www.kieranoshea.com/2008/04/11/update-calendar/
http://www.kieranoshea.com/2008/02/09/next-version-calendar/

Dustin, if you look at the second screen shot in this post you can see the options page which includes a box for CSS. This is stored in the database and so if you make changes to it they will persist between both upgrades to WordPress and upgrades to Calendar.

Geoff, you are free to take your chances with the beta when it is released. The database changes will not be different between the beta and the final version so upgrading from beta to final will just be a case of changing the plugin file (indeed so will the upgrade from 1.1 but changing the file will cause database changes from 1.1 whereas this will not happen between 1.2 beta and 1.2 final). I must stress that the beta will be unsupported though. I will accept bug reports and apply fixes ready for the final if the reports can be verified, but that will be it until the final release.

OK - what am I missing:

edited htaccess
put files in the proper place
activated and initiated the plugin
admin interface shows up - new event gets added to the database

However,

../calendar gives me a 404
../wp-calendar.php shows the calendar

in the latter the event text is so small it's illegible (the cal also stretches across the screen - I assume I can fix the width in which .php file?

To be honest, if its possible, I'd rather take my chances with 1.2 beta than spend any time troubleshooting the older version.

Awesome, can't wait for the next release.

Another thought would maybe be to seperate the css for the colors of the calendar so that when someone takes the time to edit them it doesn't get deleted with an upload and the user doesn't have to worry about changing them again.

Or, different color themes from the options menu?

Thanks!

I am curious when you will release your new version of the calendar. I tried to use the older calendar but that didn't work as I ran into some installment problems with having to go the long way with somethings.

If you could provide a date of when you would release this that would be amazing, that way I could tell others that the calendar will be up at that time would be amazing.

Also if you could provide a new detailed installment tutorial that would be better for people who are not super advanced.

Overall this is the best calendar I have used as the old one I was using was hacked into, and had to take that down totally. Are you look at the security of this calendar too?

Thanks Dustin :)

<blockquote>
Will this new version be like other plugins where we just put it in the plugin directory?
</blockquote>
Yes, it will. There will be a directory called "calendar" that you can just upload straight into the plugins directory.

<blockquote>
Also, anyway it can be entered into pages/posts just by dropping a snippet of code in?
</blockquote>
Yes, there is a tag you can enter into a post or page to display a calendar where you want. This is what is causing the calendar to be displayed in the post and page you see on the development site. The tag looks like this: {CALENDAR}

In addition there are functions you can add to your theme to get upcoming and todays events in your sidebar for WordPress v2.0.11 and for v2.5.1 there are widgets that you can add using the widget editor.
