Donation to RouterTech

Just wanted to put up a quick thank you note for Matt Revell who kindly made a donation to RouterTech last night. He’s a big supporter of open source software and wanted to help out a project close to home. The money will be put to good use in the further development of the project and I’ll be sure to get a credit for Matt arranged on the site.

Hi, i just upload your plugin “donation” from the plugins on wordpress and activated but nothing shows on my website. Do I need to do anything else for it to show?

Create a new page with {DONATION} as the only text on the page. When you browse to that page on your site you’ll see the donate form

It drives me nuts that plugin developers always omit the instructions.
It’s a prank they play just to stick it to us.
    Absolutely no instructions at all.
    Idiotic.

Tesla, I’m fairly sure the instructions are in the readme file that comes with the plugin. If they are not, let me know and I’ll make sure they get added

Errrr… this donates to you, not to me…

Ruby, if you mean the donation plugin, you simply have to change the e-mail address to your PayPal address in the options and the donations will go to your address. The function won’t work without a valid email address which is why mine is in there by default. Hope this helps!

Andy, not without editing code. I’m working on a new version which will have this facility though.

My issue is every time I place an amount into the donations box. When I proceed to the next page the donation says 0.00. How can I get this to show up. Also it was doing this before I made some Modifications.

Never mind – .get_option(‘donation_currency_symbol’) was causing my issue.

    Thanks anyways.

Hello, is there any procedure about paypal code? I deleted it accidentally. When I test it and click on the proceed button, it does not bring me to paypal donation form, instead it brings me back to the website page.

    Please help.
    Thank you

….and how do you change the image

  18. Kieran O'Shea Said,

The donation options page allows you to change the currency symbol. As for the image of pound coins, you’ll need to edit the HTML image tags in the PHP file to change this.

    Hi Kieran,
I have created a page with the title”Donation” and left everything else blank. All that appears on that page is an Invitation to forward to a friend, nothing about making a donation. What have I done wrong?

You need to add one line of content to that page, namely

    {DONATION}

Kieran, Where is the readme file located? I’m getting a few error codes when I test the form and would like to resolve them. Thank you!
