Abby’s Identity Revealed
While away in Jersey I read one morning in an interview with the Guardian newspaper that the identity of the author of one of my favorite blogs, Girl with a one track mind, had been uncovered by a tabloid journalist. “The Girl” as the blogs author is known online, writes both the blog and a recently published book under the pen name of Abby Lee and for many of us this was quite enough information, in fact the annonymity of the whole thing was what gave it that even greater intrigue.
Clearly however this isn’t enough for some people and I was upset to see the life of a great blogger turned upside down by a tabloid in search of a quick buck by revealing The Girl’s true identity. I think this behaviour is shameful and I really feel for Abby in this. By the early blog postings it is very clear that the blog was never supposed to be a money making scheme, far from it, merely an outlet for her own thoughts and feelings on a subject not often talked about and something that is rarely found shared in such an open way.
To the un-named journalist who did this deed I hope you realise how many issues you have caused for Abby and how many of Abby’s readers you have pissed off, and even if you don’t I’m sure you’ll sleep easier knowing that you have a few more enemies in the world now won’t you.
I hope Abby keeps writing as even with the unmasked identity I feel sure her postings will continue to be of interest to readers from around the world. To all who have read her blog and enjoyed it, please buy Abby’s book as I feel sure that a confidence boost at this stage would really help yet another individual trapped and hounded by the modern day excuse we have for news.

Im sure she doesnt need a confidence boost if she’s really that bold with gentlemen in her life…. Buying the book will only make her richer, I really don’t think buying her book will boost her confidence, only her bank balance…

I think there is a big difference between confidence with individuals and the confidence to face everyday things after the whole light in which they are seen changes. I’m not sure you can honestly say that you would have the same confidence with friends and family if a side they never knew about you was suddenly splashed accross the sunday papers. While in this case one might say Abby brought it upon herself, I think its unfair to assume that she wouldn’t appreciate the moral boost of knowing she continues to have the support of people who read her blog.
Personally I don’t think money comes into it. The blog is free and so if you don’t want to buy the book then support is as easy as posting a comment on her blog (which many have done). I just know if I wrote a book about something I’d like people to buy it, irrespective of earnings I may recieve and so I’m assuming the same about Abby.
Its not what you are recieving per copy that matters its that people don’t buy a book without intending to read it, and so every buyer is in fact someone who is interested in what you have to say, and that IS as boost. Just like it makes me feel writing this blog is much more worthwhile when people I don’t even know (like youself ;)) post a comment on it because you let me know you have read it.

I beg to differ! If it was support you were advocating then making her richer is not support! You pleaded “please buy Abby’s book”, you didnt however suggest providing any form of emotional support… and then took a complete U-Turn in the above post… Consistency, Please! You’ve suggested people want to read her book is “support” infact support would be an email stating “i enjoy your blog, i disagree with the papers views (or not) and i think your very talented!”
