Fishing madness

Woke up this morning, had a shower, turned on my computer monitor. “GOOD LORD” I exclaimed as I saw my weather icon reporting that is was -4. A quick glance outside to see frost and a few people wrapped up in hats and scarves confirmed I had a  cold walk to uni ahead of me. Luckily after some time in situation unknown, my hat and gloves re-surfaced after a few minutes of frantic searching, so I was good to go.

Walking along the canal towards town an amazing sight met my eyes; fisherman. Not just 1, but about 5 of them, along the bank. I exhailed slowly, making my breath freeze in the air, as if to confirm that it was as cold as I thought, and looked at the fisherman again to see them with no gloves, hats, one or two without coats, standing knee deep in the freezing canal. Madness just doesn’t do this kind of thing justice, it really doesn’t.

Maybe they were born on winter time. That’s why they didn’t feel like freezing.
