I ran Windoctor from Norton Systemworks 2006 today and told it to repair the errors. I had My Documents on the G drive, Windows on the D drive. When Systemworks was complete, ALL of my Documents on G, including all of my photos had been converted to unreadable CHK files, 8.6 gigabits worth. Files from File0000.chk to File9999.chk. I have tried a couple of CHK file recovery programs, neither was able to recognize anything.

If there is anyone who who like to join me, please email me @ digilab@optonline.net for specific details.

Which is why I refuse to use Norton or McAfee, apart from the fact that they're resource hogs and don't work as effectively as many other AV programs.

For windows i recommend Grisoft AVG Free Edition, or if you're willing to pay F-Secure is the best.
